Project in Intercultural Mediation

The Intercultural Mediation Project is an initiative led by the Chomedey Local Development Committee in partnership with the Laval School Service Center, the Laval Police Department, and other community organizations in the area.
Objective:
The main objective of the project is to promote connection and dialogue between immigrants and local stakeholders in order to foster better living together in the Chomedey neighborhood.
Target audience:

Youth aged 12 to 17

Parents
-
School, community, and police workers
Proposed activities:

Dialogue groups for youth and parents, as well as thematic workshops based on expressed needs and current challenges.

Informal intercultural activities that encourage connection between youth and stakeholders, such as intercultural cafés.

Trainings or seminars to equip professionals with tools for intercultural mediation.

Creation of a coordination committee to improve communication and collaboration among the different actors.

Awareness booth on intercultural mediation and the project, during the "Chomedey en fête" event.
A few numbers :
+150 people reached
24 surveys collected : 100% of respondents are interested in participating in discussion groups or intercultural cafés.
